Local Group Ryde/
Hunters Hill
Monthly get-together Saturday 9th Aug, Lane Cove

Our next get-together is at Mandy's in Lane Cove, on Saturday 9th August at 2pm.

This meeting is a cheese making workshop: first, Mandy will be demonstrating how to make brie. She will explain the process, what ingredients are needed and show
the most interesting part of this long process. Then Margaret will be taking us through the process of making cottage cheese, and finally, we can do a tour of Mandy's fabulous garden.

Bring a note book and pen, and if you would like to, you can bring something to share for afternoon tea,

NOW FOR SOMETHING NEW... Each month, Deb will be writing a tip to help us keep up with our garden needs. The August tip from Deb is below:

It's now time to prune your deciduous fruit trees, including pear and apple. Please see a Youtube clip of Margaret Sirl of the ABC demonstrating how to prune pear trees. It provides a very clear and simple explanation to make those members who have been feeling hesitant to give it a go. Take a look at the other helpful tips provided under related stories, including pruning apple, peach and apricot.

Finally, if you will be coming to the get-together, would you register or reply to me by email.

Cheers,
Diana Fletcher
