Permabee - Saturday 5 May - Epping

Do you live in a townhouse, unit or have a small space? Do you want to see how you can implement Permaculture Principles in your small space?

This permabee is a great opportunity to visit and work in an established small garden in the north shore, packed with examples of permaculture practices in action.

At this Permabee, we will be helping Lucinda to get her garden ready for International Permaculture Day 2018. Lucinda kindly volunteers her time and opens her garden to the public!

Planned activities for the day will include:

12.00     Introductions, project briefing and safety talk.

12.15     Garden Tour (with finger food: eat as you listen!) and talk about what to consider when setting up a small space garden: sun constraints, living with strata, living with the bush close by etc.

12.45     Prepare the garden for open day: tasks involved include weeding, planting, renewing mulch cover, putting out signs, ensuring the pipe pot stands have water, sieving the hot compost heap and emptying out the bottom tier of the two worm farms.

2.30        Afternoon Tea will be provided. Plenty of glasses and mugs so no need to BYO!

4.00        Wrap Up and debrief.

Come for a couple of hours or the whole afternoon. We have plenty of activities for people with different skills. You don’t have to be Mr. Muscle to come and join us. You just need to have an appetite for learning, getting your hands dirty and having a laugh.

Space is limited to 10 spots, so register early and don’t miss out!

WHAT TO BRING...

Afternoon Tea will be provided.

Please bring personal protection gear such as a enclosed shoes/ boots, hat, gloves, sunscreen and a water bottle.
