PSN Permabee - Sun 21 October 2018 - Rydalmere

In October we are off to help three brothers in Rydalmere, Darryl Graham and Raymond who are passionate about edible gardens and who needs our help to make their dream a reality.

Darryl Graham and Raymond have a mild intellectual disability and are involved with community groups and are semi-independent. They have a gorgeous sun drenched flat back garden and love vegetable and fruit gardening. Their wonderfully caring family have been trying to find any organisations that might assist them intermittently in their gardening projects. So PSN have offered to lend a hand by organizing a working bee.

It is so wonderful to see the pride and joy that gardening brings these gentleman and it would be wonderful to get as many members as possible to come along.

The plan for this Permabee is as follows:

9:30 - Introductions, project briefing and safety talk.

10.00 – Break into smaller teams to work on the various projects including: converting 3 existing garden beds into wicking beds and installing some irrigation lines to the garden beds.

12.30 – Lunch Break (this will be provided).

4.00 – Wrap Up and debrief.

Come for a couple of hours or the whole day. We have plenty of activities for people with different skills. You don’t have to be Mr. Muscle to come and join us. You just need to have an appetite for learning, getting your hands dirty and having a laugh.

Space is limited to 20 spots, so register early and don’t miss out!
