PSN Permabee Weekend!- Sat 24-25 August 2019 – Wentworth Falls (Blue Mountains)

That’s right fellow permies – not only are we doing a two-days weekend permabee – we are off to the lovely Blue Mountains as well!!

For those who knows Shawn – he was the very patient and ever accommodating Garden Co-ordinator for PSN for 5 years, until he decided to move to the mountains to built his straw bale house. It has taken Shawn and Lisa a while to get the build approve and to get the people to construct it and it is now already starting to look spectacular.

So in August – we are off to return the favour to Shawn who has been in countless permabees and help him with the start of his permaculture garden.

The plan for this Permabee is as follows:

Saturday:

9.30 - Introductions, project briefing and safety talk.

10.00 – Break into teams to work on the various projects – the main one being the construction of gabion walls, swales and planting of fruit trees.

12.30 – Lunch Break (this will be provided).

2.30 – Afternoon tea (bring a snack/plate to share).

5.00 – Wrap Up

6.00 – Group dinner in town

Accommodation: There are plenty of options nearby, you are also welcome to camp on site at Shawn’s place (and check out the composting toilet on site! - there may not be a bathroom on site though so BYO bucket, shovel and toilet paper just in case =)). Please contact the Garden Team if you would like to camp on site.

Sunday:

For those who would like to stay the whole weekend, on Sunday we will continue working in the garden until lunch time, so people will have the opportunity to do some sightseeing around the Blue Mountains before heading back to Sydney.

You don’t have to attend the whole weekend or the whole day for that matter, so the timing is flexible. We have plenty of activities for people with different skills. You don’t have to be Mr. Muscle to come and join us. You just need to have an appetite for learning, getting your hands dirty and having a laugh.

So if you are interested in a great weekend away, outdoors in the Blue Mountains to hang out with other premies – then register for this event.

Space is limited to 20 spots, so register early and don’t miss out!

WHAT TO BRING...
