Learn how to bake a delicious loaf of sourdough at home and how to care for your sourdough starter.

At this online Zoom workshop, Kiki will teach you the basics of sourdough bread baking.

After signing up via the PSN website event, you will receive an email detailing ingredients and what you need before baking. This information will be shared approximately one week before the workshop date.

Donations

Although the workshop is free, Kiki is a supporter of Bread4Change, which aims to support climate action initiatives through creating community whilst teaching how to bake sourdough bread.

In pre-COVID times, the founder of Bread4Change (Oliver Kunz) ran workshops from his backyard in Sydney, teaching the sourdough bread baking basics. At these community events, speakers present topics related to climate action. Event donations go towards a different climate action organisation each time.

For this event, Kiki encourages donations to the Firesticks Alliance. Click the link to donate:  https://chuffed.org/project/firesticks-alliance

Firesticks is facilitating training, implementing on-ground works and conducting scientific monitoring to establish a greater understanding of the ecological impact of cultural burning practices. The program aims to work with fire to enhance ecosystem health by improving habitat condition and connectivity within culturally connected landscapes. The ultimate goal of Firesticks is to support cultural learning pathways that enable and empower Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities to work collectively towards resilient landscapes.
