Learn to design your own food oasis through this 6-month program. Our PSN volunteers will open up their gardens and work closely with you to help you put together a design for your own suburban property – regardless how big or small.

In this module we’ll help you consolidate your learning and apply it to your own garden design. We’ll look at how to map out your ideas, incorporating permaculture features, overcoming design challenges and how to plan and implement the changes.

Please note, this is module 2 of the program. You will need to have completed module 1 before attending this module. If you are new to permaculture then we recommend a 3-to-6-month gap between modules to attend other workshops and events to learn more about permaculture approaches on topics such as plants, soil, water, animals and structures.

Workshop 3: Saturday 5th November 2022; 9:30am - 3pm

Workshop 4: Saturday 19th November 2022; 9:30am - 3pm

Cost

$40

Locations

Each session will be held at a different permaculture garden and details will be forwarded after enrolment.

What you will learn
Module 1
: During the first module you’ll learn how to analyse a suburban property using a permaculture approach to identify and map not just the space but the various elements and influences that need to be considered. Each participant will finish these two workshops with a detailed map of your own property as a basis for your permaculture design. Note: you will need to complete this prior to attending module 2, registration for this is done separately.

Between modules: After completing module 1, you'll have opportunities to attend a range of PSN workshops on topics such as plants, soil, water, animals & structures. These will provide you with some of the key knowledge when planning what goes into your own design. We’ll also provide you advice on further resources for self-study. Note: You will need to register for each of these workshops separately.

Module 2: In the final two workshops we’ll help you consolidate your learning and apply it to your own garden design. We’ll look at how to map out your ideas, incorporating permaculture features, overcoming design challenges and how to plan and implement the changes.
