Monthly gathering: Bioregional design and adaptation for an uncertain future, with Rowe Morrow
7pm Monday 17th March, Lindfield Seniors Centre
The future is uncertain and unpredictable – physically, socially and economically. How can we use social permaculture design to create safe and interactive bioregions that meet our needs – are good places to live and grow?
We are exceptionally excited to have Rosemary (Rowe) Morrow, a truly wise permaculture elder, return to share her knowledge.
Rowe has been a permaculture educator and activist since the 1980s, and her books Earth User's Guide to Permaculture, Earth Restorer's Guide to Permaculture and Earth User's Guide to Teaching Permaculture are used by permaculture teachers all over the world.
Rowe is committed to taking her design and teaching skills to where they are most needed – to people with few resources and who cannot access good information. She has worked in countries where there are refugees created by war and, increasingly, the impacts of climate warming, such as East Timor, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Philippines, Iraq, Solomon Islands, Uganda and Vietnam.
Her ground-breaking teaching techniques and methods are based on the ethics of Care of the Land and Care of People. She is committed to using and teaching relevant, evidence-based information, which should be a human right for implementing designs, improving life, or avoiding disasters.
Rowe lives in the Blue Mountains where she co-founded the Blue Mountains Permaculture Institute. She is down-to-earth, tries to practice integrity and, having seen so much war, is a committed pacifist.
Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to browse our library and find a treasure on our reuse & recycle table.
Stick around for a chat and a cuppa afterwards. Supper will be provided & served by Hornsby local group members.
Guest are welcome and this is a free event, but please register so we know how many people to expect.
