Last year's film and soup night was our most popular event!
Monthly Gathering: Film and soup night
7pm Monday 21st July, Lindfield Seniors Centre
Our fabulous soup and film night is back to warm your body and soul on a chilly winter night!
Films: We're showing at least three short films from Happen Films, and two more if there's time!
The Plummery, 5-year Revisit (12 min). Head back to Kat Lavers' Melbourne inner city home and 100 square metre garden in December 2024, to see how her garden’s developed and how she’s changing her home to be more energy & water efficient.
An Invitation for Wildness (20 min). Watch a neglected piece of land transform into an amazing 23-year-old, 2-acre food forest in NZ South Island that provides the owners with their fruit, vegetables and herbs using rather an unusual, minimalist forest management system.
Degrowth in the suburbs (5 min). See how an urban Melbourne family saves time and money by creating permaculture gardens, using biogas and solar power, and taking part in community initiatives like car sharing.
Closing the Loop (7 min). Learn about how a couple manages their composting toilet, why it's so important, and how easy it is! Fun and informative.
Rongoā Māori - healing people and place (11mins). Be inspired by Rongoā, the healing practice of the Māori in Aotearoa New Zealand. A lovely story about foraging, natural medicines, and rethinking our place in nature and what ‘healthy’ really means.
Food: Vegetarian and vegan soups, and bread, are being made by PSN members. If you'd like to contribute something sweet, please contact Sue Patterson at: lg@permaculturenorth.org.au
Cost: $5 for members, $10 for non-members (no charge for designated food providers). Payment is by cash or card at the door.
Doors open at 6pm for food preparation. Come early to browse our library and find a treasure on our reuse & recycle table.
Guests are welcome, but please register now (pay later) so we know how many people to feed!
