Monthly Gathering: Harvesting Hope in East Africa

Join us to hear from Sharlene Cohen who will share the story of Harvest Food Forest, a growing movement transforming schools in Kenya and Uganda into thriving food forests. By teaching children, parents, and teachers organic gardening, business skills, and environmental stewardship, the project is not only improving food security but also reducing human–wildlife conflict and inspiring entire communities to embrace chemical-free farming.

Come hear how kale is being grown without pesticides (and enjoyed without reflux!), how children are running market stalls with pride, and how a simple school garden is becoming a seed of resilience, enterprise, and hope.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to browse the library or find a treasure on the Reuse and Recycle table.

Join us for tea, coffee and supper which will be provided and served by the Hornsby group this month.
