Demonstration: Splitting a Native Beehive
9–11am Sunday 9th November, Pennant Hills

Are you interested in native Australian bees?

At this event, Sue Patterson will give an overview of what’s involved in caring for a native beehive for stingless bees known as Tetragonula carbonaria, which live in social colonies. She will then demonstrate how to split a wooden native bee hive to make two hives.

Sue has been volunteering with the Ku-ring-gai Council’s native bee programme almost every spring since 2014. So, if you want to learn about native bees, splitting a hive, or just want to come and observe, come along!

Space is limited to 12 spots, so register early and don’t miss out! If spaces are not filled a week before the event, we will open it out to non-members.

Please bring a little something to share for morning tea. Coffee, tea and cold drinks will be provided.

The address will be provided in the registration confirmation email (towards the end). The location is a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Pennant Hills station.

Any questions, please contact Sue on 0402 240 975.
