Qigong balances the five elements, each corresponding to specific emotions and organs of the body.
Monthly gathering: The benefits of Qigong, with Corinne Bozsoky
7pm Monday 17th November, Lindfield Seniors Centre
Modern Qigong is a system of coordinated postures and flowing movements, rhythmic breathing, and meditation that together improve health, enhance spiritual growth, and support martial arts training. It has its roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy and martial arts, and is a traditional practice throughout Asia, used to cultivate and balance the flow of Qi – life-force – through the body.
PSN member and qigong teacher, Corinne Bozsoky, will share a little of her journey to and with qigong, and talk about its history and benefits.
After injuring her lower back in her early 40s, Corinne chose to avoid surgery and instead treated the injury with pain killers, anti-inflammatories and a practice called 'physiocise'. Her experience sent her down a new path, exploring a myriad of of techniques, programs and practices as she became aware that our minds and bodies have the ability to release pain and heal themselves. She developed a daily practice, which continues to grow and change on her journey through life. Corinne now holds a Diploma of Counselling and certificates in teaching mindfulness and meditation, and modern qigong. You can read more of her philosophy and practises on her website.
Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to browse the library or find a treasure on the Reuse and Recycle table.
Join us for tea, coffee and supper which will be provided and served by the Ryde and Willoughby groups this month.
This event is free for members and guests. Please register so we know how many to expect.
