Monthly gathering: Small space and container gardening for renters

This month we are delighted to host Sahar El-Chiekh who will share inspiration from her rental garden, recently featured on Gardening Australia in April.

Sahar is a self-taught Sydney-based gardener, content creator and educator, passionate about helping people grow food no matter their space or circumstances. During the strict Covid lockdowns, she transformed her dusty western Sydney rental backyard into an productive food bowl, full of produce that connects her to her Lebanese roots.

Sahar has built a thriving productive garden using containers, portable systems and creative small-space solutions. Through her online community, workshops and speaking events, she shares practical, honest advice that makes growing food feel achievable, empowering and accessible for everyone.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to help set up, browse the library or find a treasure on the Reuse and Recycle table.

Stick around for a cuppa and a chat after the speaker. Supper will be provided by the Ku-ring-gai group this month.
