The Complete Propagator Workshop: Seed, Cut, Pot & Plant
9am–1pm Saturday 15 August 2026, Dundas Valley

Join us for a hands-on journey through the full plant lifecycle! In this practical course, you’ll get your hands dirty with the five core stages of growing your own food.

You'll choose and plant eight types of edible seeds to take home, while gaining hands-on experience with both potting up and planting directly into the ground.

The workshop covers:

  • Plant Selection Planning: How to choose the right species for your site by evaluating microclimates, soil health, sunlight patterns, and spatial layout.
  • Seed Propagation: Learn the art of starting from scratch including crafting optimal soil mixes, calculating sowing depth, managing light and moisture, and preventing seedling diseases like damping-off.
  • Potting Up: How to move young seedlings into larger individual containers once their true leaves emerge without damaging their fragile stems.
  • Garden Planting: Transitioning plants to their permanent outdoor home using a gradual "hardening off" process and proper digging, root-massaging, and mulching techniques.
  • Cutting Propagation: Cloning your favourite plants by taking strategic softwood, semi-hardwood, or hardwood stem cuttings and rooting them in a high-humidity environment.

Location:  Youjia's place in Dundas Valley. Address supplied with registration confirmation. The 545 bus from Eastwood station drops you 400m from her home. It's a 2.2km walk from the station.

Cost: $20 members, $45 for non-members (includes annual membership)
