The Willoughby local group is meeting on Sunday September 22 from 2pm to 430pm.

The focus is on visits to 2 community gardens and learning about all matters of growing organic veges, herbs and fruit from folks who have much to share from their work on these fabulous collective projects. There will be tours, talks and opportunities to buy all sorts of local produce such as honey at our second venue, Permapatch.

Let’s meet at the first venue at 2pm.

First venue: Naremburn Community garden  at 2pm. Sarah from our local group who is a member of this garden has kindly offered to be our guide.

Location: Bongalong  Street , Naremburn

Second Venue: Permapatch community Garden at 2.45pm

Location: PermaPatch is located in the grounds of the Chatswood South Uniting Church,
which is on the corner of Mowbray Rd and Pacific Hwy.
Mandy Stubbs is our guide for this leg of the tour and I will insert a quote from her for a taste of what’s to come:

“I can give a little tour and chat and answer any questions (well MOST questions!). Will put the urn on. We have tea and coffee and sugar. If someone can bring low fat milk (pref organic) that would be good (the garden has minimal funding). Will have honey for sale and anything else we can dredge up for the day. Gifts of home grown herb plants always welcome from visitors - But NO parsley thanks!! Also appreciate bags of dried leaves (not gum), grass clippings (not sprayed), bags of manure, kitchen scraps etc for composting. “

As you can see it is going to be another fun filled, knowledge broadening and great socialising experience!!! So do come along and let’s welcome spring together!!!
