Learn to build IBC wicking beds and set up a fruit tree espalier
We are heading to new member Vanessa's garden in Normanhurst to help her set up IBC wicking beds and espalier fruit trees.
IBCs are industrial-grade containers used for transporting various materials. With a bit of know-how, they can be recycled into self-watering garden beds.
We'll also be learning about the ancient technique of espalier which enables you to grow fruit using minimal space.
During the day we will:
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get hands-on experience in building these types of garden structures.
What to bring: Gloves, water, something to share for morning tea.
What to wear: Sturdy closed-in shoes, a hat.
Lunch will be provided.
As spaces are limited, please let us know if you change your mind and cannot attend so someone else can take your place.
